Underground Chilled Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer
Pierce Drive Utilities
Underground Chilled Water, Sanitary Sewer and Storm Sewer
Emory University, Atlanta, Georgia, 1999

EMC provided construction bid documents to install 700 linear feet of 16 inch and 18 inch diameter underground chilled water piping, 450 linear feet of 16 inch sanitary sewer lines, and 400 linear feet of a 24-72 inch RCP storm drain system.

The project was put on a fast track construction schedule to be completed over the summer break (May 11 through August 1, 1999). EMC provided a detailed construction phasing schedule that would allow multiple utility contractors to work within the same project area.

The combined utilities paralleled and occupied parts of Pierce Drive which had to remain open to shuttle bus and emergency vehicle traffic at all times. The utility installation had to be coordinated with a system connection and a large building renovation project that was located in the same construction area.  As part of the project effort, EMC provided contract administration services throughout the construction phase to ensure contract compliance and to meet the project budget and deadline.
