EMC is the commissioning agent for the Student Recreation Center at Georgia State University in Atlanta which includes a main and auxiliary gymnasium, a natatorium, administrative offices, specialized activity areas, and support areas. The facility is approximately 162,000 square feet.
EMC is developing and coordinating the execution of a testing plan, verifying good design practice, verifying proper documentation and observing and documenting performance that determines whether systems are functioning in accordance with the documented design intent and in accordance with the contract documents.
The construction commissioning consists of systematically documenting that specified components and systems have been installed and started up properly and then functionally tested to verify and document proper operation through all modes and conditions. In addition, owner-personnel training will be verified and final project operations and maintenance documents will be reviewed for completeness. EMC will also document warranty issues.
