Control System Master Plan and Commissioning
Control System Master Plan and Commissioning
Technical Operations Center, Delta Air Lines Terminal
Hartsfield International Airport, Atlanta GA

EMC Engineers provided Delta Air Lines with an energy management system ( EMS ) “master plan” for the corporation.  EMC developed a specification and RFP package to select one EMS for the whole corporation.  The RFP went to JCI, Siemens, Honeywell, Automated Logic, Invensys, and CSI.  EMC supported Delta with a review and selection process, where they selected Automated Logic.

EMC also provided an engineering plan for their 3,000,000 square foot Technical Operation Center, which is their Atlanta aircraft maintenance facility that includes hangars, paint booths, various shops, computer, and administrative areas.  EMC performed an inspection of existing EMS including Siemens (Landis), Control Systems International (CSI), and Siebe controls systems at the Technical Operations Center.  EMC also surveyed all the HVAC and central plant systems in the building, and evaluated their operations and maintenance as related to present and future EMS needs.

EMC prepared an engineering plan discussing performance of existing systems and proposed phasing of future EMS.  A review of the types of control the existing EMS was currently providing and recommendations on future control capability were identified.  A proposal prepared by Siemens was reviewed.  Cost estimates were developed for the proposed phasing of the future EMS.  A basic scope of services was developed in order to secure pricing from control system vendors on upgrade and replacement of the EMS.
