Staff Energy Engineer - Raleigh:
Successful candidate must have a strong background in energy and water audits, and modeling and analysis of building systems (HVAC, controls, lighting) and central energy plants and distribution systems. 

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Building surveys to identify potential energy and water conservation measures

  • Energy simulation modeling of building and utility system consumption

  • Utility bill and rate analysis

  • Evaluation of energy and water conservation measures

  • Construction cost estimating

  • Life cycle cost analysis

  • Report writing

This position will include direct involvement with clients. 

The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering 

  • Five to seven years work experience in energy engineering

  • Excellent oral communication and writing skills

Preferred Skills and Certifications:  

  • Professional Engineer License

  • Certified Energy Manager

  • LEED Accreditation


Staff Mechanical Commissioning Engineer - Raleigh:
Successful candidate will
support building commissioning and will work closely with the management team on large sites.  This position will report directly to a Senior Project Manager and may supervise engineers, field personnel, and other technical support staff as needed.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Design reviews of HVAC systems, building automation systems,  fire alarm/suppression systems

  • Mechanical inspection (QA/QC) team leader

  • Progress and other report writing

  • Construction site observation

  • Preparing test procedures for checking operation of mechanical systems

  • Ongoing client interface about project progress

  • Daily interation with management team

  • Lead project commissioning meetings

  • Proactive problem identification and resolution

  • Conformance to design documents

  • Coordination and verification of as-built drawings

  • Coordination and review of shop drawings

The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; or equivalent experience in Building Commissioning (Commissioning and LEED certification preferred ) 

  • A minimum of 4 years combined HVAC system design and field experience on large mechanical building projects 

  • The ability to travel  

  • A working knowledge of building automation and control strategies for HVAC equipment 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as computer proficiency including MS Office Suite  

  • US Citizenship  

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment  

Preferred Skills and Certifications:

  • Recognized Commissioning Certification , BCA, AGC, or other 

  • LEED-AP 

  • Good knowledge of DDC controls and controls design 

  • Good knowledge of duct leakage testing, IEEE 519, SMACNA Duct Construction Standards, and AHSRAE Guidelines 

  • Knowledge of fire protection system design 

  • A thorough understanding of Mechanical Building Codes and Construction Standards 

Junior Mechanical Engineer – Springfield, VA:

Requirements:  

The Junior Mechanical Engineer will support building commissioning activities and will work closely with the management team on large sites.   This position will report directly to a Senior Project Manager and may supervise engineers, field personnel, and other technical support staff as needed. This dynamic position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Design reviews of HVAC systems, central plant and building automation systems, fire alarm/suppression systems

  • Mechanical inspection (QA/QC)

  • Progress and other report writing 

  • Construction site observation 

  • Preparing test procedures for checking operation of mechanical systems

  • Detailed HVAC systems testing 

  • Proactive problem identification and resolution 

  • Coordination and verification of as-built drawings

  • Coordination and review of shop drawings  

The ideal candidate must have the following:

A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering; or equivalent experience in Building Commissioning or Test-Adjust-Balancing (Commissioning and LEED certification preferred)

  • A minimum of 1-3 years combined HVAC system design and field experience on large mechanical building projects

  • The ability to travel 

  • A working knowledge of building automation and control strategies for HVAC equipment

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as computer proficiency including MS Office Suite

  • US Citizenship 

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment

Building Automation Controls Specialist – Commissioning and Mechanical Systems – Gainesville, FL

Requirements:

The Controls Specialist will provide support for inspection, testing, checkout, and troubleshooting of building automation, fire alarm, and security systems for commissioning, retro-commissioning, and system design projects. This dynamic position will have the following responsibilities:

In-depth experience in the design, installation, programming, and/or checkout of building automation systems (direct digital controls, fire alarm, and security), from manufacturers such as Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Automated Logic, TAC , Alerton, Delta, Simplex, Notifier, General Electric, etc.. 

  • Will have knowledge and experience working with network data protocols (such as BACnet & LonWorks)

  •  Progress and other report writing

  • Construction site observation

  • Preparing test procedures for checking operation of mechanical systems

  • Ongoing client interface about project progress

  • Daily interaction with management team

  • Proactive problem identification and resolution

  • Conformance to design documents

  • Coordination and verification of as-built drawings

Electrical Engineer/Project Manager – Commissioning and Electrical Systems – Alpharetta, GA

Requirements:

The Electrical Engineer to support building commissioning will be a senior level electrical professional who will work closely with the management team on large sites.   This position will report directly to a Senior Project Manager and may supervise engineers, field personnel, and other technical support staff as needed. This dynamic position will have the following responsibilities:

  • Design reviews of electrical power systems, stand-by power generation,  UPS , lighting, lighting control, and fire alarm systems

  • Electrical inspection (QA/QC) team leader

  • Progress and other report writing

  • Site observation

  • Preparing test procedures for checking operation of electrical systems

  • Ongoing client interface about project progress

  • Daily interaction with management team

  • Proactive problem identification and resolution

  • Conformance to design documents

  • Coordination and verification of as-builts

  • Coordination and review of shop drawings

 The ideal candidate must have the following:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; or equivalent experience in a critical environment (data center, hospital, or power plant experience )

  • A minimum of 5 years combined power system design and field experience on large electrical projects.

  • The ability to travel

  • Must have a thorough understanding of National Electric Codes

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as computer proficiency including MS Office Suite.

  • Experience in acceptance testing of power distribution systems involving; switchgear and switchboard assemblies, dry type and liquid filled transformers, low and medium voltage cables, circuit breakers, grounding systems, ground-fault protection systems, emergency power systems (generators and ATS’s).

  • US Citizenship

  • The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.

 Preferred candidates will additionally have:

  • P.E. license (any state) preferred.

  • LEED-AP

  • Good knowledge of grounding, electrical testing, coordination studies, and variable speed drives

  • Knowledge of fire alarm systems, NFPA, UL requirements

  • Experience in communication wiring and lighting systems


Junior Mechanical Engineer -  Falls Church , VA :

Successful candidate will support building commissioning and retro-commissioning projects in the mid-Atlantic area.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Design reviews of HVAC systems, building automation systems,  fire alarm/suppression systems
  • Mechanical inspection (QA/QC)
  • Progress and other report writing
  • Construction site observation
  • Preparing test procedures for checking operation of mechanical systems

The ideal candidate must have the following:
